MSOTA Coastal District Meeting/Free CEU Event

MSOTA Coastal District Chair, Tanner Lee, is hosting a meeting/free CEU event on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  This event will be held at The SPOT Therapy located at 6514 Hwy 90 in Gautier, MS 39553.  Speakers Donna Stauter and Dr. Sue Somerland will present "Low Tech - High Impact:  A Make and Take Workshop on Building Switches and Battery Interrupters for Adapted Toys and Everyday Devices." Participants will make their own, individual adapted switch and a battery interrupter to use with a AA or AAA battery powered toy or device. Participants will also apply case scenarios to daily practice and leave prepared to use their switch in the clinic the next day. This meeting is open and free for all to attend. MSOTA members only will receive a certificate for 2.0 CEU hours immediately following the event. MSOTA South Central District Meeting/Free CEU Event

MSOTA is partnering with the William Carey University to host their first MOT Systematic Review Research Symposium.  This event will be held on November 19, 2026 at William Carey University (608 Tuscan Avenue in Hattiesburg, MS) from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Mark Blanchard, PhD, OTD, OTR/L, ATP will present an "Introduction to Evidence-Based Practice and Systematic Review Research in Occupational Therapy" from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. Students will present findings from their research from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The event will feature Master of Occupational Therapy students presenting systematic review research projects that examine current evidence supporting occupational therapy interventions and outcomes.  Attendees will gain knowledge of emerging evidence, best practices, and clinical applications relevant to occupational therapy practice while earning 2.5 contact hours of continuing education.  This symposium represents the inaugural research dissemination event for William Carey University's traditional Master of Occupational Therapy program and provides an opportunity for practitioners to engage with emerging evidence and student scholarship in occupational therapy. 

Attendance is open and free for all.  MSOTA members only will receive a certificate for 2.5 CEU hours immediately following the event. Pre-registration is required. Click here to register.
